Experience the local lifestyle at Long Island
Sponges from Long Island are exported to all around the world, and with this excursion, you'll get to take part in some of the process. Learn how locals dive into the waters and cut sponges from the bottom of the reef. After watching carefully, you'll be given 30 minutes to try it out yourself! Waste no time and dive right in. It might be a little tricky initially, but under the right guidance you'll soon be able to cut your first sponge! Enjoy a delicious cook-out after learning how to dry sponge Once you're done snorkeling, watch how the sponges are dried before being sold to the primary buyers around the Bahamas. While you're taught about the process of drying these sponges, a delicious cook-out will be prepared right there on the beach. Enjoy fresh grilled fish with veggies and down them with some mocktails. Trust us, it doesn't get better than this.

- Pregnant women and others with debilitating medical conditions should consult a doctor before attempting the excursion
- Kids under the age of 5 will not be allowed to participate
- Non-swimmers are advised against participating in the sponging portion of the excursion
- Personal expenses and meals aren’t included in this tour package
